Chef de Partie – Luxury Hotel Kitchen

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Chef de Partie to join the high‑volume kitchen at The President Hotel in Cape Town. You will take ownership of a designated section, ensuring every plate meets our luxury standards.

Key responsibilities

• Take full ownership of your assigned kitchen section, maintaining quality and speed throughout each service.
• Prepare, cook and present dishes according to established recipes and presentation guidelines.
• Complete mise en place and ensure your station is ready before breakfast, lunch, dinner and function services.
• Monitor stock levels, rotate stock correctly and minimise waste.
• Guide and support Commis and Demi Chefs, providing on‑the‑job training as needed.
• Maintain strict hygiene, HACCP and food‑safety standards at all times.

Required profile

• Relevant culinary qualification or professional chef training.
• 2–3 years of experience as a Chef de Partie or experienced Demi Chef de Partie, preferably in a 4‑star/5‑star hotel or luxury resort.
• South African citizenship or a valid work permit.
• Ability to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, food preparation and presentation.
• Proficiency in mise en place, portion control and kitchen service procedures.
• Understanding of HACCP, food safety and hygiene standards.
• Effective stock rotation and waste‑reduction practices.
