About the role
The Westin Cape Town is seeking a motivated Chef de Partie specialized in baking to join its culinary team. You will be responsible for preparing high‑quality baked goods that meet the hotel’s standards for taste, presentation, and safety.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and cook baked items according to recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines.
- Portion, chop, and store ingredients, ensuring proper inventory control.
- Operate baking equipment, measuring tools, and appliances safely and efficiently.
- Monitor and record temperatures of ovens, proofers, and food items, reporting any issues to management.
- Maintain a clean and sanitized work station, following all sanitation and cleaning procedures.
- Ensure compliance with food safety handling policies, personal hygiene standards, and company safety protocols.
- Support the team by communicating clearly, handling telephone inquiries professionally, and maintaining a neat personal appearance.
Required profile
- Recognised culinary qualification with at least three years of relevant experience.
- Previous experience in a 5‑star hotel environment is highly recommended.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Team‑oriented, quality‑driven and flexible with working hours.
