Chartered Accountant (CA / SA) – Roodpoort

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) to lead our accounting function in Roodpoort, Johannesburg. The role involves overseeing financial reporting, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting strategic decision‑making for a company operating in highly regulated sectors such as state contracting, engineering, and logistics.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full financial accounting cycle, including monthly management accounts, annual financial statements, and corporate reporting packages.
• Maintain and enhance internal control policies, oversee cash‑flow management, and coordinate external statutory audits.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, SARS, corporate tax regulations, and public‑sector governance requirements.
• Develop organisational budgets, cost‑centre forecasts, and variance analyses to inform commercial strategy.
• Collaborate with operational units, engineering project teams, and external auditors to monitor project financial health and profitability.

Required profile

• Valid CA(SA) registration with SAICA.
• 2‑4+ years post‑articles corporate accounting experience, preferably in heavy engineering, state contracting, or industrial logistics environments.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to translate complex financial data into actionable business insights.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency with ERP systems such as SAP, Syspro, or Sage Evolution.
• Expert‑level Microsoft Excel skills.
