About the role
Fidelity Services Group is hiring a CCTV and alarm technician for its West Coast team, reporting to the Technical Manager. The role covers installations, servicing, investigations and operations for internal clients, as well as work for FADT customers and suppliers. It also includes general duties such as downloading calls, keeping stock records and maintaining the company vehicle.
Key responsibilities
- Perform alarm installations as per the quotation
- Program alarm panels and systems according to specifications
- Issue on-site quotes for additional equipment when needed
- Plan cable runs with the wireman
- Obtain customer codes before each call and complete handovers, invoices and job cards
- Provide feedback to the manager, supervisor and call centre after each call
- Download calls every morning, keep stock up to date and assist the storeman with stock takes
- Keep the company vehicle clean and submit petrol slips weekly
Required profile
- Matric or equivalent qualification
- At least 5 years of experience as an alarm technician
- Extensive experience in programming, wiring, installations and fault finding
- Valid driver's licence (essential)
- PSIRA registration (Grade C)
- Able to work standby as and when required
Required skills
- Sound knowledge of DSC, FBI, CADDX, IDS, Paradox and Telecom systems
- Knowledge of CCTV, intercom and access control systems is advantageous
