Catering Manager

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Catering Manager to oversee the provision of quality food and service across all meals, functions and resale items. The role involves menu planning, budgeting, staff management and ensuring compliance with hygiene and safety regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, cost and develop menus while adhering to budgetary limits and prescribed standards.
• Hire, train, schedule and develop catering staff, ensuring proper induction and performance monitoring.
• Manage administrative tasks, cash‑up procedures, banking of monies and accurate staff records.
• Prepare operating statements, budgets and receivable collections, and report on financial performance.
• Ensure hygiene standards, HACCP and NOSA regulations, and conduct regular fire drills and safety checks.
• Oversee security, staff dress code, and compliance with company and statutory requirements.

Required profile

• Enjoy working with people and possess strong interpersonal and supervisory abilities.
• Excellent organisational skills with keen attention to detail.
• Ability to work irregular hours, including weekends and public holidays.
• Good communication, grooming and presentation skills.
• Comfortable using computers and able to negotiate, delegate and work under pressure.
