Catering Manager – Empangeni

About the role

The Catering Manager will lead Icebolethu Group’s catering business in Empangeni, developing and executing strategy aligned with market trends, regulations and corporate objectives. The role focuses on driving operational excellence, profitability and safe workplace standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement medium‑ and long‑term catering business strategies to achieve performance targets.
• Manage all customer requirements in line with Service Level Agreements and resolve client queries.
• Coach, guide, mentor and discipline staff, ensuring high performance and compliance with PPE and health‑safety policies.
• Plan and allocate work, optimise human resources and eliminate unnecessary overheads.
• Monitor risks, enforce company policies and lead change‑management initiatives.
• Partner with the Group Managing Executive on performance, compliance and risk matters.
• Establish succession plans for key catering roles and ensure governance according to industry norms.

Required profile

• National Diploma or Degree in Home Economics, Hospitality or a related field; a Master’s in Business Administration is advantageous.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in catering management.
• Demonstrated strategic thinking, planning and business performance delivery.
• Strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal abilities.
• High integrity, honesty and a performance‑oriented mindset.
