Category Buyer – Procurement Specialist

About the role

The Category Buyer will drive transactional sourcing and manage end‑to‑end procure‑to‑pay processes in line with company policies and the Limits of Authority framework. This role ensures that business requirements are met efficiently while maintaining compliance and data integrity.

Key responsibilities

• Manage procure‑to‑pay processes for spend up to R3 million, including supplier selection, RFQ issuance, negotiation and purchase order creation.
• Execute non‑strategic category sourcing by preparing and issuing RFI, RFQ and RFP documents and supporting contract creation and management.
• Ensure procurement compliance with audit requirements, contract terms and LOA limits, taking ownership of open and post‑facto purchase orders.
• Maintain accurate procurement data, generate performance reports and analyse transaction trends to meet set targets.
• Build and sustain relationships with government authorities, industry players and service providers to capture new business opportunities.
• Promote adherence to company policies on ethics, data protection and anti‑bribery, and support a culture of high performance and integrity.

Required profile

• National Qualifications Framework Level 6 (Diploma) in Finance, Supply Chain or a related field.
