About the role

Mediclinic is seeking a Care Worker to join its Intensive Care Unit team. The role involves supporting nursing staff to deliver safe, high‑quality patient care in a fast‑paced environment. You will work closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Support and assist nursing unit staff in delivering quality patient care using a team approach.
• Identify and report risks in accordance with hospital policies.
• Contribute to a positive patient experience by assisting nursing staff.
• Provide specified administrative support to the nursing unit.
• Participate in continuous personal development to foster a learning environment.
• Ensure efficient utilisation and accurate charging of required stock.

Required profile

• Appropriate qualification as a Care Worker.
• Grade 12 education.
• Experience in a healthcare environment.

Required skills

• Understanding of stock control principles.
• Ability to report and document events and tasks.
• Knowledge of medico‑legal risks.
• Familiarity with administrative tasks.
• Understanding of patient experience aspects.
• Knowledge of patient care principles.
