Buyer's Assistant – Administrative Support for Category Manager

About the role

We are seeking a resilient and hard‑working Buyer’s Assistant to provide accurate administrative support to the Category Manager within our Kids Division. This fast‑paced, dynamic environment offers the chance to develop your career in a B2B wholesale retail distribution setting.

Key responsibilities

• Update procurement systems with required information and maintain accurate filing.
• Capture, monitor and process purchase orders.
• Manage samples throughout the merchandising cycle – receive, organise, dispatch and track.
• Assist with on‑time delivery by following up on product and packaging designs, pre‑production samples and mass production.
• Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders and build trusting partnerships.
• Provide ongoing support to the Category Manager across all stages of the merchandising cycle.

Required profile

• Grade 12/Matric certificate and a relevant tertiary qualification.
• Minimum two years of experience in an administrative or buyer’s assistant role, preferably in retail or buying.
• Self‑motivated, high energy, able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication, relationship‑building and organisational skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook.
