Buyer – Procurement & Supplier Management

About the role

The Buyer will manage the end‑to‑end procurement process for international freight operations, ensuring timely deliveries, accurate invoicing and strong supplier relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Create and maintain good relationships with suppliers and customers.
• Issue purchase orders within agreed KPIs.
• Support business partners in resolving invoice discrepancies to ensure correct payments.
• Process and maintain supplier master data and pricing in the procurement system.
• Review and analyse supplier performance.
• Maintain and communicate daily inbound delivery times.
• Keep accurate records of orders and related data points.
• Ensure stock invoicing so that pre‑payments are received from clients.
• Achieve system management, customer service and on‑time delivery targets.
• Drive continuous improvement of buying processes.

Required profile

• Matric Certificate/Diploma in Business Management, Financial Management or Logistics.
• 3‑5 years experience in a similar buyer role within the international freight management industry.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Cargowise 1 (preferred).
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
