Business Legal Advisor

About the role

The Business Legal Advisor will provide legal solutions to business challenges, mitigate legal risks and partner with internal teams to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. This role involves consulting with internal clients, drafting and negotiating legal documentation, and delivering clear legal direction based on sound judgment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide sound legal advice to the business area on all legal matters that may arise in its operations.
• Stay up‑to‑date with relevant legal developments and comment on emerging legislation affecting the business.
• Review operational processes with risk teams to ensure they do not expose the business to undue legal risk.
• Liaise with external attorneys to ensure clear instructions, timely deliverables and budget compliance.
• Conduct legal research and proactively advise on legal risks affecting the organisation.
• Develop, implement and review legal policies and procedures to ensure compliance with existing legislation.
• Interpret laws, rulings and regulations applicable to the business area and provide legal opinions.
• Draft, review, update and negotiate legal agreements and other documentation.
• Monitor and analyse industry developments, competitor activities and recommend effective courses of action.
• Identify innovative, legally sound solutions and communicate anticipated legal issues to relevant forums.
• Utilise legal technology in the execution of duties and monitor compliance with statutory requirements.

Required profile

• Relevant bachelor’s degree in Law.
• Minimum 4–5 years of relevant legal experience.
• Strong expertise in drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts and agreements with suppliers.
• Proven ability to provide high‑quality legal advice and manage stakeholders.
