Business Development Representative – School Infrastructure

About the role

The company, a modular building and infrastructure solutions provider, is expanding its footprint in the Gauteng education sector. As a Business Development Representative you will prospect schools that need new or upgraded facilities and introduce them to high‑quality modular building options.

Key responsibilities

• Research and identify private, independent and fee‑paying public schools across Gauteng.
• Build and maintain a prospect database for the education sector.
• Cold‑call and proactively approach schools, establishing contact with principals, owners, bursars, facilities managers and governing body members.
• Arrange and attend face‑to‑face meetings, school visits and presentations to understand infrastructure needs.
• Gather detailed project information – requirements, budgets, funding sources, timelines and decision‑making processes.
• Qualify opportunities and provide comprehensive lead data to the sales and contracts team.
• Maintain accurate records of activities, meetings and follow‑ups in the CRM system.

Required profile

• Proactive, professional attitude with strong field‑based business development experience.
• Demonstrated ability to research, prospect and qualify opportunities in the education sector.
• Experience engaging with senior decision‑makers such as principals, facilities managers and governing bodies.
• Comfortable conducting site visits, taking photographs and recording preliminary information.
• Ability to work independently while coordinating closely with sales and contracts teams.
