Business Development & Projects Manager (Waste Management / Plastics Recycling)

About the role

Our client, a leading waste management and plastics recycling company, is looking for a Business Development & Projects Manager to drive growth and deliver high‑impact projects across South Africa. You will identify new market opportunities, forge strategic partnerships, and manage project funding and budgets from concept to completion.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities in waste management and plastics recycling.
• Build and maintain strategic partnerships with private, NGO, and public sector stakeholders.
• Prepare funding proposals, financial reports, and project updates for senior leadership.
• Oversee project budgets, timelines, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with circular‑economy goals.
• Coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, prioritising competing demands.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Operations, Logistics or related field (MBA advantageous).
• Minimum 3 years of high‑level project management experience, preferably in waste management, recycling, or renewable energy.
• Proven track record in business development, key‑account management and stakeholder engagement.
• Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting and financial reporting.
