Business Development Manager – Safety, Security & Infrastructure

About the role

The Business Development Manager – Safety, Security & Infrastructure will drive growth for Vela Personnel’s technology solutions portfolio. Reporting to senior leadership, you will identify new opportunities, build strategic partnerships and expand market presence across private and public sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and nurture relationships with system integrators, vendors and end‑customers in the safety, security and infrastructure space.
• Maintain an internal and external network to ensure sales success and a positive customer experience.
• Provide weekly sales forecasts and input on product stock levels to management.
• Collaborate with vendors and customers to design and implement growth strategies and marketing initiatives.
• Assist the sales process, distribute product and training information, and position vendor solutions within the portfolio.
• Track market trends, competitive offerings and technology developments relevant to the portfolio.
• Represent the organisation at customer engagements, conferences and tender evaluations.
• Prepare business cases, price solutions accurately and support customer enablement activities.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in business development or sales within safety, security, infrastructure or related technology sectors.
• Strong track record of achieving revenue and profit targets.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Ability to analyse market data, forecast sales and contribute to product strategy.
• Willingness to obtain and maintain relevant industry certifications.
