Business Development Manager - Remote

About the role

Our client, a leading logistics company operating in Tanzania, is seeking a Remote Business Development Manager based in South Africa. The role is a 24‑month fixed‑term position focused on expanding fuel supply services for mining operations across East and Central Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and secure new business opportunities in the logistics, oil & gas, and mining sectors across Africa.
• Build and maintain strategic relationships with key stakeholders and decision‑makers.
• Develop and execute sales strategies aligned with the company’s growth objectives.
• Travel frequently to the head office in Tanzania and to other African countries to meet clients and partners.
• Prepare and deliver compelling presentations and proposals to prospective clients.

Required profile

• Minimum Matric (Grade 12); tertiary qualification is advantageous.
• 8+ years of business development experience in logistics, oil & gas, or mining within Africa.
• Proven track record of revenue generation and market expansion.
• Strong commercial, leadership, and negotiation abilities.
• Valid passport for regular international travel.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems.
