Business Development Manager - New Business

About the role

The Business Development Manager – New Business will be responsible for acquiring new strategic accounts and driving revenue growth for DSV in Kempton Park. You will prospect, qualify, and convert leads into sustainable clients while ensuring seamless implementation of signed contracts.

Key responsibilities

• Prospect for new business, build a qualified pipeline and convert leads into billing clients.
• Manage client relationships and oversee monthly billing and financial reporting.
• Represent the DSV brand and report sales analysis weekly to the Regional New Business Sales Manager.
• Maintain and update client data in the Dynamics CRM system.
• Conduct competitor and industry analysis and support tender and proposal preparation.
• Ensure quarterly, cumulative and annual sales targets are achieved.
• Coordinate implementation of signed accounts and manage debtor days.
• Facilitate cross‑department communication and identify cross‑silo solutions.
• Meet client call‑ratio KPIs and adhere to deadlines.

Required profile

• Completed Grade 12/Matric; tertiary qualification is an advantage.
• 2‑3 years of key account management and new‑business sales experience.
• Proven track record in prospecting, achieving sales targets and tender management.
• Experience signing strategic accounts and managing their implementation.
• Ability to report daily to the Regional Sales Manager and keep CRM data current.

Required skills

• Intermediate proficiency in MS Office, Excel and PowerPoint (advanced preferred).
• Experience using Dynamics CRM for client data management.
