Business Development Manager – Mine Site Laboratories (Africa)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to drive growth of mine site laboratory solutions across Africa. The role combines commercial leadership with technical insight to design, propose, and commercialise modular and full‑scale analytical laboratories for mining operations.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop new laboratory opportunities on mine sites throughout Africa.
• Build and maintain a regional sales pipeline and lead tender submissions, negotiations and contract closures.
• Design fit‑for‑purpose laboratory solutions, including sample preparation facilities, modular labs and full analytical labs.
• Conduct client site visits, technical assessments and translate operational needs into practical designs.
• Prepare technical and commercial proposals, cost models and pricing strategies.
• Collaborate with technical teams on laboratory design, equipment selection and workflow optimisation.
• Represent the business at mining conferences, client forums and industry events.
• Manage client relationships, support onboarding and monitor performance against sales targets.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Mining Engineering, Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in mine site laboratory services, geochemistry/analytical services, mining services or business development.
• Proven track record of selling services into mine sites and developing successful proposals.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to work across multiple African countries and cultures.
