Business Development Manager – Metering Systems

About the role

GEOTECH is looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to expand its presence in the public‑sector electricity metering and utilities market. You will be responsible for identifying new opportunities, building strategic relationships with municipalities and state‑owned entities, and securing high‑value contracts.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute business development strategies targeting public‑sector utility customers.
• Identify emerging market opportunities and conduct competitor, market and pricing analyses.
• Build and maintain relationships with municipalities, state‑owned entities and other key stakeholders.
• Lead contract negotiations, prepare tenders, proposals and commercial submissions.
• Coordinate with technical, operations and finance teams to ensure successful solution delivery.
• Create and maintain business plans, revenue forecasts and performance reports.
• Provide market feedback to product teams and support the launch of new products and services.
• Represent the company at industry events and travel nationally as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Business Administration, Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years of technical sales or business development experience in public utilities or electricity sector.
• Proven track record of generating revenue and securing new business.
• Strong understanding of public‑sector procurement, tenders and contracting processes.
• Experience working with municipalities or state‑owned entities is highly advantageous.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Valid driver’s licence, own vehicle and willingness to travel nationally.
