Business Development Manager – Interior Design

About the role

The Business Development Manager will drive growth for a leading corporate interior design firm operating in Johannesburg and Cape Town. This full‑time permanent role focuses on identifying new project opportunities, building strategic relationships and representing the company across the built‑environment sector.

Key responsibilities

• Generate new business leads and qualify potential corporate interior design projects.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.
• Network proactively within design, architecture, construction and property development industries.
• Present the company’s services and capabilities to senior stakeholders.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth project hand‑over and client satisfaction.
• Establish strategic partnerships with consultants, developers and industry influencers.
• Maintain a robust pipeline and monitor market trends to support growth targets.

Required profile

• Proven experience in business development, sales or account management within interior design, architecture, construction or related sectors.
• Strong understanding of how design and construction projects are procured.
• Established network of industry contacts is highly advantageous.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship‑building abilities.
• Professional appearance with confidence presenting to senior decision‑makers.
