Business Development Manager – Fresh Produce

About the role

Dutoit Services (Pty) Ltd., based in Midrand, is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to grow its fresh produce business across retailers and municipal markets in northern South Africa and selected African markets. The role focuses on new business development, sourcing, trading and building profitable customer relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business and trading opportunities
• Source fresh produce according to market demand
• Manage and grow key customer accounts
• Develop cross‑border trading opportunities in selected African markets
• Represent Dutoit Agri in the northern region and key municipal markets
• Negotiate pricing and commercial terms
• Build strong relationships with customers, growers and industry players
• Monitor market trends, pricing and competitor activity
• Coordinate customer requirements internally
• Grow a sustainable and profitable portfolio of business
• Perform all other tasks related to the role

Required profile

• Relevant degree
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in fresh produce marketing, trading or business development in South Africa
• Willingness to travel regularly, including cross‑border travel
