Business Development Manager – French Speaking

About the role

The Business Development Manager will lead the growth of food export sales into French‑speaking Central and West Africa, focusing on FMCG, chilled and frozen foods. You will combine sales, trading and relationship management to generate profitable opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Negotiate and close complex export trades, from price discussions through to finalising contracts and terms.
• Maintain strong relationships with existing clients while expanding the customer base in French‑speaking Central and West Africa.
• Coordinate with internal logistics, finance and operations teams to ensure smooth order fulfilment.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity and regulatory changes across target territories.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of new‑business development, sales or trading experience in an export environment.
• Proven “hunter” track record with achievement of sales and volume targets.
• Extensive travel experience in West and Central Africa and a solid network in those markets.
• Fluency in French (written and spoken) and strong proficiency in English.

Required skills

• Proficiency with analytics tools such as Qlikview or Qliksense for data‑driven decision making.
• Strong numerical and commercial understanding to interpret figures and business information.
