Business Development Manager – BFSI (Banking, Financial Services & Insurance)

About the role

Samaha Consulting is looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to expand its Banking, Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI) portfolio across South Africa and the wider African region. You will drive revenue growth by identifying new enterprise opportunities, nurturing key relationships and delivering innovative digital solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Generate and qualify new BFSI leads, manage the sales pipeline from prospecting to contract closure.
• Develop strategic account plans aligned with customers’ digital transformation goals.
• Engage CIOs, CFOs and senior decision‑makers through presentations, negotiations and commercial discussions.
• Collaborate with presales, solution architects and delivery teams to craft compelling proposals.
• Partner with global and regional BFSI teams to promote industry best practices and accelerators.
• Lead demand‑generation activities with marketing and alliance partners.
• Build and maintain relationships with strategic technology partners such as SAP, Oracle, IBM, Microsoft, AWS and Google.
• Provide market intelligence, forecast pipeline and ensure achievement of sales targets.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, IT, Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
• 12–15 years of experience in business development, enterprise sales or account management within the BFSI sector.
• Proven track record of winning large‑scale enterprise contracts and managing complex sales cycles.
• Strong network of senior executives in South African BFSI organisations.
