Business Development Engineer – Mining (Junior)

About the role

The Business Development Engineer will focus on building and nurturing long‑term relationships with mining clients in Johannesburg. You will act as the technical bridge between customers and our engineering and production teams, ensuring satisfaction and driving repeat business.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and grow relationships with existing mining clients, ensuring product/service satisfaction.
• Manage contract renewals and customer retention activities.
• Promote products and identify new business opportunities within client organisations.
• Collaborate continuously with engineering and production departments.
• Network with industry professionals, maintenance engineers, plant managers and procurement teams.
• Prepare detailed technical proposals, quotations, tender documents and calculations.
• Provide technical guidance, troubleshoot queries and support product usage.
• Monitor competitor offerings and market trends to uncover growth opportunities.

Required profile

• BEng or BSc in Mechanical Engineering, Mining Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• 1–3 years of experience in technical sales, industrial sales or engineering support.
• Excellent verbal and written English with the ability to simplify complex technical information.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• South African citizenship.
