Business Development Consultant – Hospitality & Technology

About the role

We are looking for an experienced and results‑driven Business Development Consultant to join our Durban team. The role focuses on driving new business growth across hospitality, restaurant, leisure and retail sectors by promoting innovative technology solutions that improve operational efficiency and revenue.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, qualify and convert new business opportunities and develop sales strategies to meet revenue targets.
• Generate leads through networking, referrals, industry events, digital channels and direct prospecting.
• Promote and sell hospitality, restaurant, retail, ERP and SaaS technology solutions.
• Build and maintain relationships with C‑suite executives, owners and senior decision‑makers.
• Manage the full sales lifecycle from lead generation to contract negotiation and handover.
• Identify cross‑selling and upselling opportunities within existing accounts.
• Maintain accurate sales pipeline and forecasts using CRM systems.
• Represent the organisation at trade shows, conferences and industry networking events.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Marketing, Sales, IT, Hospitality Management or related field.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in business development, solution sales or enterprise software sales, with a proven track record of exceeding targets.
• Experience engaging with C‑suite executives and managing the complete sales cycle.
• Willingness to travel extensively locally and internationally.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Oracle Hospitality OPERA PMS.
• Experience with Oracle NetSuite ERP.
• Familiarity with ResRequest, Cashbases and SpaGuru solutions.
• Understanding of restaurant POS solutions and SaaS business automation tools.
