Business Analyst – FinTech Payments

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst to join our fast‑growing fintech team in Stellenbosch. You will work on innovative payment solutions, translating complex business needs into clear functional specifications and ensuring successful delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Gather, analyse and document business, functional and reporting requirements.
• Translate needs into detailed functional specifications and user stories.
• Facilitate workshops and engage stakeholders to capture objectives.
• Document processes, workflows and operational procedures.
• Collaborate with development, testing and project teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Support project planning, backlog grooming and prioritisation within the PMO.
• Manage changes to requirements and keep documentation up‑to‑date.
• Assist with User Acceptance Testing to ensure solutions meet expectations.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and enhance analysis methodologies.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Business Analysis, Information Systems, Computer Science, Commerce or related field.
• Minimum 3 years experience as a Business Analyst in financial services or fintech.
• Strong knowledge of the payments ecosystem (digital payments, retail payment systems, banking processes, card schemes, EFT, settlement, acquiring, payment processing).
• Proven experience gathering and documenting business and functional requirements.
• Understanding of business process modelling and workflow documentation.
• Experience supporting Agile and/or Waterfall project methodologies.
