Branch Operations Coordinator

About the role

A distributor of aluminium products is looking for a Branch Operations Coordinator to help set up a brand-new operation in the Vaal Triangle. The role combines business development with hands-on trade counter management, serving local fabricators who build windows, doors, shopfronts and balustrades. It is full-time, on site, with rotating trade hours including some Saturday mornings, and reports directly to the executive leadership team.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and launch the new branch operation and drive local market footprint and sales growth.
• Manage daily trade counter operations and deliver direct service to regional fabricators.
• Sourcing, visiting and building long-term relationships with regional fabricators.
• Account for branch cash management, trade credit and stock control.
• Supervise and mentor the branch team, including the stock controller and delivery driver.
• Oversee stock processes: receiving, inventory management and dispatch logistics.
• Report to company directors on branch performance, revenue targets and operational efficiency.

Required profile

• 15+ years of total work experience, including at least 5 years in a customer-facing role accountable for cash or stock.
• Proven track record running a trade counter, branch, depot or small business in steel, glass and aluminium, building supply, hardware, plumbing or electrical wholesale.
• Full professional bilingual English and Afrikaans.
• Resides in the Vaal Triangle (non-commutable from Johannesburg).
• Willingness to work full-time on site, including rotating Saturday morning trade hours.

What we offer

• Basic guaranteed remuneration of R15,000 per month.
• Shared branch commission on monthly sales turnover, with uncapped earning potential; established branches can earn R25,000 to R35,000 per month.
• Permanent employment.
