Branch Consultant / Financial Advisor

About the role

As a Branch Consultant/Financial Advisor you will represent Sanlam Developing Markets in a branch environment, delivering tailored financial solutions to individuals and families. The role focuses on building lasting client relationships, providing expert advice, and driving sales of a broad range of insurance and savings products.

Key responsibilities

• Promote Sanlam Retail Mass (SRM) products and increase market share through proactive client outreach.
• Provide sound financial advice, assess client needs, and recommend appropriate insurance, savings, and investment solutions.
• Manage the full sales cycle: validate client details, submit new business, and conduct due‑diligence to identify risks.
• Service existing client portfolios, send payment reminders, follow up on queries, and ensure policy renewals and persistency.
• Handle walk‑in and appointment clients, prioritising daily activities to maximise sales opportunities.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of product changes and regulatory requirements, informing clients accordingly.
• Escalate complex issues using the established escalation framework and provide timely feedback to clients.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of SRM product ranges and the ability to match them to client financial goals.
• Excellent client service orientation with a focus on relationship building and retention.
• Ability to manage time effectively, balancing scheduled appointments with walk‑in traffic.
• Commitment to compliance, due‑diligence, and accurate documentation.

Required skills

• Knowledge of financial and insurance products offered by Sanlam.
• Proficiency in client data validation and regulatory compliance processes.
• Effective communication and consultative selling techniques.
