Bookkeeping Manager (Remote, Full‑Time)

About the role

We are seeking a seasoned Bookkeeping Manager to lead a high‑volume remote accounting team. This full‑time position works primarily on U.S. Eastern Time hours and focuses on delivering accurate, compliant bookkeeping for a large client portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee 70–80+ client accounts, ensuring timely and accurate bookkeeping.
• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of bookkeepers, providing daily guidance and accountability.
• Conduct deep weekly reviews of client books and secondary reviews before month‑end financials.
• Develop and implement SOPs, drive process improvements, and optimise workflows.
• Leverage tech solutions and AI tools to automate repetitive tasks and boost efficiency.
• Maintain up‑to‑date Keeper and QuickBooks Online records.
• Manage client communications, set expectations, and handle escalations.
• Participate in onboarding and training of new bookkeepers.
• Identify risks and keep leadership informed of client progress.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or financial operations.
• Proven leadership in a high‑volume environment.
• Strong attention to detail, organisational skills and ability to meet multiple deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.
• Comfortable working fully remote while collaborating with a distributed team.
• Familiarity with U.S. tax and accounting standards is strongly preferred.

Required skills

• Expert‑level knowledge of QuickBooks Online.
• Proficiency with Keeper bookkeeping software.
