Bookkeeper / Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a reliable and detail‑oriented Bookkeeper/Accountant to join our monthly processing department in George. The successful candidate will support clients by maintaining accurate accounting records and ensuring compliance with South African tax regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Capture and maintain clients’ accounting records on a daily basis.
• Process VAT returns and perform monthly accounting functions.
• Prepare reconciliations and management accounts for internal and client review.
• Handle SARS‑related queries and provide supporting documentation.
• Execute accounting procedures in line with high professional standards.
• Liaise professionally with clients and internal team members.

Required profile

• Completed secondary education with Accounting as a core subject.
• Mathematics and Accounting results averaging between 60 % and 70 %.
• Relevant certificate, diploma, degree, or proven bookkeeping/accounting experience.
• Experience in a similar accounting environment is advantageous.
• Professional communication skills in both Afrikaans and English.
• Strong organisational and time‑management abilities.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel skills, including formulas, filters and PivotTables.
