Bartender – Luxury Hotel & Resort

About the role

We are looking for a dynamic Bartender to join the bar team at One&Only Cape Town, a luxury hotel located on the vibrant waterfront. The successful candidate will craft alcoholic and non‑alcoholic drinks, maintain bar standards and deliver memorable service to our guests.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, mix and serve beverages and cocktails following standardized recipes.
• Maintain bar cleanliness, equipment, storage areas and ensure stock levels are at par.
• Complete daily inventory, stock requisitions, sales, breakage and spoilage reports.
• Handle cashier duties, process guest payments and reconcile cash at the end of each shift.
• Set up mise en place, garnishes, syrups and beverage stations before service.
• Store and serve wines and other beverages at correct temperatures, maintaining refrigeration equipment.
• Perform suggestive selling to increase beverage sales while providing exceptional guest service.
• Collaborate with colleagues and support other departments as needed.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of hospitality experience, preferably as a bartender.
• Fluent English communication with guests, team members and management.
• Strong customer‑service orientation and interpersonal skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
• Familiarity with the Micros point‑of‑sale system (advantageous).
