Banquet Waiter

About the role

The Banquet Waiter position is a full‑time, on‑site role at Ivory Manor Boutique Hotel in Pretoria. You will be part of the events team, ensuring that banquet rooms are prepared to the hotel’s high standards and that guests receive attentive, professional service throughout each event.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and break down banquet rooms, including tables, chairs, linens, and service stations.
• Prepare and arrange tables and service areas before guests arrive.
• Serve food and beverages during events, responding promptly to guest requests.
• Communicate special dietary requirements or issues to the kitchen and management.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of service areas throughout the event.
• Coordinate closely with the events and kitchen teams to ensure smooth service.
• Uphold a welcoming and professional atmosphere for all guests.

Required profile

• Strong background in food service or food & beverage environments, preferably in banquet or restaurant settings.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with a focus on memorable guest experiences.
• Clear, professional communication abilities for coordination with kitchen and event staff.
• Physical stamina to stand for long periods, carry trays, and work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Reliability, punctuality, and adherence to established service standards and safety procedures.
• Prior hospitality or event service experience is preferred; formal training in hospitality or food service is an advantage.
