Back End Developer – Payments & Gaming Integrations

About the role

The Backend Developer will design, build and maintain services that enable Sun International’s payment processing and gaming provider integrations. Working under the Senior Backend Developer and Team Lead, you will focus on creating robust Node.js/NestJS APIs, handling database operations and ensuring high‑availability in a regulated iGaming environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services using Node.js, NestJS and TypeScript.
• Implement and support RESTful APIs, webhooks and other integration points with payment and gaming providers.
• Write and optimise SQL Server queries, stored procedures and indexing strategies.
• Perform unit and integration testing with Jest and Supertest, and contribute to CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps.
• Apply security best practices such as authentication, encryption and secure data handling.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional Agile teams to deliver features on schedule.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, Software Development or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional experience in backend development.
• Proven ability to work with Node.js, NestJS and TypeScript in production systems.
• Experience with SQL Server and API integration in a regulated environment.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and a focus on delivery and accountability.
