Audit, Performance & Risk Committee Member

About the role

The Kgatelopele Municipality is seeking a qualified professional to serve as a member of its Audit, Performance & Risk Committee (APRC). The role involves providing strategic oversight of audit, performance management and risk matters within the municipality, ensuring compliance with public sector governance standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare for APRC meetings, including reviewing relevant documents and reports.
• Attend APRC meetings and actively participate in discussions.
• Perform related duties such as drafting recommendations and monitoring follow‑up actions.

Required profile

• Relevant degree or equivalent qualification in Information Technology, Performance Management, Risk Management, Legal, Internal/External Auditing, Technical Engineering or related fields.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in the above disciplines.
• Experience in a municipal environment and familiarity with public sector business processes.
• Prior participation in audit and risk committees is essential.

Required skills

• Integrity and independence.
• Understanding of public sector business and internal control processes.
• Knowledge of corporate governance principles.
• Familiarity with prescripts governing local government.
