Associate – Dispute Resolution (Foreclosures & Banking Litigation)

About the role

Our client, a full‑service law firm, is looking for an Associate to join its Dispute Resolution department in Sandstone. The role focuses on foreclosures, banking litigation, recoveries and broader commercial litigation, handling both pre‑litigation and courtroom matters.

Key responsibilities

• Consult with clients, counsel and correspondent attorneys on complex legal issues.
• Draft high‑quality legal opinions, pleadings, correspondence and other court documents.
• Conduct legal research and interpret statutes, rules and regulations.
• Gather and compile evidence, interview witnesses and prepare cases for trial or arbitration.
• Manage pre‑litigation applications, actions, arbitrations and appeals.
• Litigate in civil courts, tribunals and arbitral forums while maintaining confidentiality of client records.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships and support directors with training materials.
• Ensure work meets the highest professional and client‑care standards.

Required profile

• LLB degree (post‑qualifications advantageous).
• Admitted attorney with 2–5 years post‑article experience in commercial litigation.
• Proven drafting experience and ability to work with minimal reliance on advocates.
• Court and arbitration experience with solid knowledge of civil litigation procedural requirements.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Team player who can also work independently and handle high volumes of matters.
