Assistant Site Manager

About the role

The Assistant Site Manager will support daily site operations for a busy construction site in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town. Reporting to the Site Manager, you will ensure safety, efficiency and customer satisfaction while maintaining inventory and financial controls.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily operations, ensuring compliance with safety, environmental and legal regulations.
• Recruit, train and lead staff to improve service efficiency and productivity.
• Manage inventory levels for fuel and convenience store products, reducing discrepancies.
• Monitor sales, manage budgets and perform cash reconciliation to maximise profitability.
• Resolve customer complaints promptly to enhance satisfaction and repeat business.
• Open and close the site, complete daily manager check‑sheets and maintain general security.
• Ensure correct freezer temperatures, oversee general maintenance and handle ad‑hoc projects.
• Record and report key performance indicators weekly and monthly.

Required profile

• Matric qualification; post‑matric qualification is advantageous.
• Experience in site or operations management within construction or related sectors.
• Strong leadership and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work 180‑190 hours per month on site.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
