Assistant Nursery Manager

About the role

LevelUp is a leading South African nursery that produces high‑quality forestry, fruit and vegetable seedlings. We are seeking a disciplined and motivated Assistant Nursery Manager to support our KZN operation focused on clonal avocado propagation.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in managing nursery propagation activities and ensure plant health.
• Support supervision and day‑to‑day management of nursery staff.
• Oversee irrigation and nutrient programmes for greenhouse and shade‑house plants.
• Coordinate dispatch operations, logistics and on‑site plant traceability.
• Capture production data and provide after‑sales technical support to clients.
• Assist with farm maintenance, construction and expansion projects.

Required profile

• Honest, reliable, hard‑working with a hands‑on approach.
• Strong planning, organisational and time‑management abilities.
• Positive attitude, conscientious work ethic and team‑player.
• Relevant horticulture or agriculture qualification (diploma or degree).
• Experience with avocado or orchard operations is advantageous.
• Professional proficiency in English.
