Assistant IT Manager

About the role

The Assistant IT Manager supports the IT Management Team at Mount Nelson, ensuring the hotel’s technology infrastructure runs smoothly and securely. This role blends hands‑on technical work with project coordination and vendor management, contributing to the luxury guest experience.

Key responsibilities

• Manage overall performance of IT systems and infrastructure for the hotel.
• Implement and maintain company‑wide standards, policies, and security controls.
• Oversee data, network access, backup systems and disaster‑recovery testing.
• Deliver IT projects on schedule, meeting business objectives.
• Monitor and report on Service Level Agreements and system performance.
• Coordinate with the Area IT Manager on schedules, priorities, and major issues.
• Conduct quarterly user reviews, bi‑annual network switch patching, monthly server updates, and regular backup restores.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree, diploma or equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field.
• 3‑5 years of experience in IT operations, systems administration or IT management.
• Proven experience managing IT infrastructure, networks, servers, backups and security controls.
• Experience delivering IT projects and managing vendors.
• Knowledge of IT governance, risk management, compliance and disaster‑recovery processes.
