About the role

The Assistant Hotel Manager supports the Hotel Manager in driving operational efficiency and delivering exceptional guest experiences. This role requires a solutions‑driven individual who thrives in a fast‑paced, constantly changing environment while maintaining high standards of service and people management.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure world‑class service is consistently delivered, measured by online reputation metrics and guest feedback.
• Implement policies, processes and standards that safeguard guest safety, security and preferences.
• Monitor equipment usage and stock consumption to maximise efficiency and minimise waste.
• Develop and maintain systems for capturing guest preferences while protecting privacy.
• Attend daily, weekly and monthly meetings to stay aligned with team and organisational developments.
• Provide guidance across Front Office, Housekeeping and F&B operations.
• Foster a positive employee engagement environment and conduct performance appraisals.
• Enforce discipline according to the Code of Conduct.
• Collaborate with third‑party suppliers to ensure high‑quality service.
• Prepare the annual budget and work with finance and purchasing to maintain inventory and par stock levels.
• Manage rosters, attendance and leave balances to control staffing costs.
• Oversee Night Auditors, ensuring accurate daily financial capture.
• Reconcile cash floats regularly to detect discrepancies.
• Train staff on SOPs and keep procedures up to date.
• Identify and communicate quality‑improvement opportunities and ensure implementation.
