Assistant Food and Beverage Manager

About the role

The Assistant Food and Beverage Manager supports the Food & Beverage Manager in delivering exceptional guest experiences at Mount Nelson, a Belmond luxury hotel. You will help maintain high service standards, control costs, and develop your team in a dynamic hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate prompt, courteous food and beverage service across all outlets.
• Maintain service excellence and quality standards, ensuring compliance with LQA requirements.
• Assist with daily logistics, cost control, inventory management, and stock takes.
• Update and implement Standard Operating Procedures and formal training plans.
• Prepare reports, manage payroll and rosters, and monitor equipment standards.
• Conduct regular departmental meetings and share company information.
• Address guest feedback, complaints, and employee grievances promptly.
• Collaborate with outlet managers to monitor profit margins and operational issues.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of food and beverage management experience in a luxury hotel.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
• Excellent analytical, project management, and attention‑to‑detail skills.
• Ability to innovate, solve problems, and drive cost efficiency.
