Assistant Director – Network Administrator

About the role

The Assistant Director will lead the design, deployment and maintenance of the organisation's network infrastructure, ensuring reliable connectivity and robust security across LAN, WLAN, WAN and telephony systems.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deploy, support and maintain LAN, WLAN, WAN, Network Access Control (NAC), firewall and telephony systems.
• Implement and manage network security, including multi‑factor authentication, Global Protect VPN and firewall policies.
• Administer domain controllers, Radius server and shared network resources.
• Perform internal and external vulnerability assessments using Nessus and produce technical incident reports.
• Integrate security measures into Microsoft Office 365 and Azure Active Directory configurations.
• Draft ICT policies, standard operating procedures and technical specifications for network infrastructure.
• Monitor network performance, manage backups and ensure WAN redundancy.
• Provide technical support and training on ICT security awareness to users.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) and a three‑year Bachelor’s degree or National Diploma in Computer Science or Information Technology.
• At least three years of experience in LAN, WLAN, WAN, firewall (Palo Alto) and Cisco network administration.
• Valid driver’s licence.
