Art Director

About the role

We are seeking a creative and strategic Art Director to shape bold, high‑impact visual work for fast‑moving restaurant and retail clients. Based in South Africa, this remote‑friendly position blends conceptual thinking with hands‑on design execution, guiding projects from early ideation through final delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute strong creative concepts across branding, campaigns, social media, and multi‑channel marketing initiatives.
• Translate marketing strategies and audience insights into clear visual directions, sketches, storyboards, and polished outputs.
• Lead projects from concept development through final execution, ensuring consistency and quality across deliverables.
• Present creative ideas confidently to internal teams and clients, incorporating feedback effectively.
• Collaborate with designers, writers, and strategists to refine ideas and push creative boundaries.
• Stay current on cultural trends, advertising practices, and platform‑specific creative requirements.
• Contribute actively to brainstorming sessions and elevate the overall creative output of the team.

Required profile

• 3‑6 years of experience in advertising, creative agencies, or brand‑focused design environments.
• Strong conceptual thinking and advanced visual design skills, supported by a polished portfolio.
• High proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and comfort using AI tools to support ideation and production.
• Excellent time‑management, communication, and presentation abilities.
• Self‑driven, comfortable working independently in a distributed, remote‑friendly environment.
• Collaborative mindset with strong problem‑solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
