Architectural Technologist – Compliance

About the role

We are looking for a meticulous Architectural Technologist to lead design compliance and council submission activities for Old Mutual’s construction projects in Pinelands. The role ensures that all architectural deliverables meet statutory requirements, are accurately documented, and progress smoothly through municipal approval processes.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, coordinate and submit approximately 90 retail and 30 commercial council plans each year to relevant authorities.
• Track each submission through to approval and occupation certificate, maintaining up‑to‑date registers and status reports.
• Ensure strict adherence to SANS, NBR, municipal by‑laws and internal brand standards.
• Act as the primary liaison between municipalities, landlords and internal project teams, delivering clear and timely communication.
• Conduct building and technical surveys under the guidance of senior surveyors to identify defects and risks.
• Provide construction‑related advice on regulations and best practices.

Required skills
