Architectural Technologist – Compliance

About the role

We are looking for a highly organised, detail‑oriented Architectural Technologist to manage design compliance, council submissions and regulatory coordination. You will ensure that all architectural deliverables meet statutory requirements and are submitted efficiently to the relevant authorities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, coordinate and submit approximately 90 retail store and 30 commercial office council plans each year.
• Manage submission registers, track approval statuses and maintain correspondence with municipalities and landlords.
• Ensure compliance with SANS, NBR regulations, municipal by‑laws, organisational standards and brand guidelines.
• Act as liaison between municipalities, landlords and internal project teams, providing clear and timely communication.
• Facilitate space‑planning layouts for retail banking branches and commercial office fit‑outs.
• Interpret design briefs and headcount requirements into accurate, compliant working drawings.
• Conduct SAPOA measurements, building and technical surveys, and identify defects and risks.
• Provide professional advice on construction regulations and best practices.

Required skills
