Apprentice/Technician – East London

About the role

This apprenticeship combines hands‑on field service work with technical training. You will support customers across the East London area by performing service calls, installations, label deliveries and cheque collections while adhering to SABS quality procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to service calls and carry out repairs logged in the system.
• Act as Verification Officer, ensuring scales are verified and sealed according to NRCS/SABS standards.
• Order required spare parts through the Service Manager and resolve equipment issues.
• Install and configure software on new site equipment, confirming proper operation.
• Maintain Service Level Agreements with corporate customers and promote label/equipment sales where possible.
• Perform six‑monthly preventative maintenance on all contracted scales.
• Maintain standard equipment as defined by TSA and report completed calls to the branch and helpdesk.

Required profile

• Grade 12 qualification with Mathematics and Physical Science.
• Age between 18 and 28 years.
• Valid driver’s licence and personal vehicle.
