Applications Solutions Architect

About the role

Our client in Pretoria is seeking an experienced Applications Solutions Architect to design and deliver end‑to‑end solution architectures. This contract position runs until March 2027 and focuses on modernising legacy applications and driving cloud‑native adoption.

Key responsibilities

• Design and document solution blueprints, integration patterns and architecture diagrams aligned with enterprise strategy.
• Lead application modernisation initiatives, including migration to containerised and cloud‑native platforms.
• Provide technical leadership to Java and .NET development teams, enforcing architecture standards and best practices.
• Collaborate with DevOps to implement CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments and platform engineering.
• Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, resilient and compliant with governance policies.
• Engage business and technical stakeholders, facilitate design workshops and communicate complex concepts clearly.

Required profile

• Relevant degree in Computer Science, IT or Software Engineering, or a diploma with at least 10 years software development experience.
• Minimum 5 years proven experience as a Solutions Architect.
• Architecture certifications such as TOGAF, AWS or Azure are preferred.
• Strong background in designing enterprise‑grade solutions and conducting architecture reviews.
