About the role
Fidelity Services Group is hiring an alarm technician in Hermanus, reporting to the Technical Manager. The role covers alarm installations, servicing, investigations and operations for internal clients and FADT customers, and also includes general duties such as downloading calls, keeping stock up to date and maintaining the company vehicle.
Key responsibilities
- Perform alarm installations as per quotation and programme alarm panels and systems according to specifications
- Issue on-site quotes for additional equipment when needed and plan cable runs with the wireman
- Obtain customer codes before each call, complete handovers, invoices and job cards, and give feedback to the manager, supervisor and call centre
- Work standby as and when required
- Download calls every morning, keep stock up to date and help the storeman with stock takes
- Keep the company vehicle clean and submit petrol slips weekly
Required profile
- Matric or equivalent; minimum 5 years' experience as an alarm technician
- Extensive experience in programming, wiring, installations and fault finding
- Valid driver's licence (essential)
- PSIRA registered (Grade C)
Required skills
- Sound knowledge of DSC, FBI, CADDX, IDS, Paradox and Telecom systems
- Knowledge of CCTV, intercom and access control systems is advantageous
