AI Engineer (Python & Generative AI Solutions) (Contract)

About the role

Our client is seeking an experienced AI Engineer to join the SAP Analytics & Engineering team within their global IT Hub. The role focuses on hands‑on AI development, LLM integration, prompt engineering, and enabling the wider engineering team to adopt AI capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement AI/ML solutions to address complex operational challenges and deliver actionable insights.
• Architect and execute prompt‑engineering strategies, Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines, and integrate LLM APIs (e.g., GPT‑4) into enterprise Python applications.
• Develop, deploy, and maintain serverless Python micro‑services on AWS Lambda, including RESTful APIs and Terraform‑based infrastructure.
• Set up automated CI/CD and testing pipelines for AI services.
• Provide technical guidance and up‑skilling to cross‑functional teams on AI best practices and data‑mining architectures.

Required profile

• 3+ years of practical Python development experience with clean, reusable code.
• Proven experience with Generative AI, LLMs (e.g., GPT‑4), Hugging Face, and prompt‑engineering techniques.
• Hands‑on experience building serverless applications using AWS Lambda, REST APIs, and Terraform.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor teams, translate business problems into AI solutions, and drive AI enablement.
