Agronomist – Seed & Crop Protection

About the role

The Agronomist will support the Senior Agronomist and Customer Facing Squads (CFS) in delivering seed and crop protection solutions. Based in Bothaville, you will help localise new technologies, run field trials and ensure high‑quality data collection while building strong relationships with farmers.

Key responsibilities

• Plant, maintain and monitor field trials, ensuring accurate data collection.
• Develop and validate field protocols and data management processes.
• Execute and localise hybrid testing programmes under farmer conditions.
• Build and maintain relationships with farmers to support trial execution.
• Assist the Senior Agronomist in sales trial execution, data collection and farmer day sites.
• Support the launch of new technologies and products.
• Create customer demand by testing new hybrids, crop protection programmes, traits and systems.
• Incorporate new products into agronomic systems and recommend cropping adjustments.
• Provide technical support for product performance issues and complaints.
• Act as technical lead for new commercial offerings in seed, traits, biologicals and crop protection.
• Train internal and external stakeholders on portfolio, products and agronomic information.

Required profile

• Experience supporting agronomic field trials and data collection.
• Ability to work closely with farmers and build trusted relationships.
• Strong technical aptitude for seed, traits, biologicals and crop protection solutions.
• Capacity to act as a technical lead and provide training to diverse audiences.
