Agency Operations Director – Project & Client Delivery

About the role

Our client, a UK‑based agency, is seeking an Operations Director to lead project and client delivery. The role combines senior project management with overall agency operations, reporting to the Managing Director and stepping in during their absence.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end delivery of client projects, from onboarding and planning through to completion, keeping timelines, budgets and scope on track.
• Serve as the main point of contact for clients, leading status calls and reporting progress, performance and next steps.
• Manage and coordinate the daily work of SEO, Ads, Web Design & Development and Graphic Design specialists, balancing workloads across projects.
• Translate client briefs into clear tasks, priorities and deadlines for the delivery team.
• Quality‑check all client deliverables against company standards before sign‑off.
• Proactively flag risks, delays or scope changes and drive resolution.
• Maintain accurate project documentation, timelines and status reporting using agency tools.
• Oversee day‑to‑day agency operations, ensuring people, projects and processes run smoothly as the business scales.
• Act as senior decision‑maker in the Managing Director’s absence and collaborate with finance on budgets and margin tracking.
• Manage vendors and external suppliers, and implement scalable systems and processes.

Required profile

• Strong project‑management experience with a marketing background, preferably from a marketing or creative agency.
• Working understanding of SEO, paid media, website design/development and graphic design to brief, manage and quality‑check specialists.
• Confident client‑facing communicator, comfortable presenting progress and managing expectations.
