Admissions Clerk (2 openings)

About the role

We are looking for two Admissions Clerks to join the front‑desk team at Life Flora Hospital in Johannesburg. Reporting to the Admissions Supervisor, you will be the first point of contact for patients and will help ensure a smooth, professional admission experience.

Key responsibilities

• Greet, welcome and direct patients, answer telephone calls and manage enquiries.
• Assist patients with completing admission forms and capture their details accurately.
• Scan and upload referral letters, medical aid cards and other documents into the system.
• Book patients for special procedures, verify authorisations and communicate pre‑examination requirements.
• Handle payments at reception, bill patient accounts and monitor patient status in the waiting area.
• Maintain infection‑prevention standards and a clean reception environment.
• Provide relief switchboard coverage and foster positive relationships with hospital staff and visitors.

Required profile

• Grade 12 qualification.
• Previous experience as a receptionist or in general administration, preferably in a healthcare setting.
• Strong communication, interpersonal skills and the ability to stay composed in a fast‑paced environment.
• Professional, mature and patient‑focused attitude.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
